Mysterious imprint Pickled returns for another edition of clandestine musical goodness. Having impressed with their first release, the cheeky salty character that adorns each vinyl center sticker has more straight dancefloor heat in store from an unnamed assailant.
With only two tracks being dedicated to the wax only release from Pickled, each side is given huge breathing space and the chance to really flex. We take aim at A1 “Pickle 3” and it returns fire with summer heat vibes. The dark techy garage deepness is punctuated with a soulful female vocal that exudes an attitude that smacks hard alongside the stripped back grooves.
Flipping over and side B belongs entirely to “Pickle 4”, a welcome one track – one side ethos that has and will serve Pickled well. Featuring similarly high octane beats coupled with soul disturbing bass tones, and on this flip some excellent pad work. Pitched down vocal clips throw the ear of the scent somewhat, but there is enough source material to recall moments from the recent past to join the dots to this excellent rub.
