Premiere: A1 – Olekhar – Intercity [AFAL002]

Toronto-based DJ with Ukrainian roots, Olekhar, presents his second EP on his label Afalinas Records with tech-funk, electro, and acid sounds inside. Of course, we’ll give you a quick look at that.

“Intercity”, the track with the same name as the EP (and the name is after the superspeed Ukrainian train), kinda takes on a trip, not supersonic, but solid. Trippy build-up, serious atmosphere during the whole 7 minutes, but at the same time, we can feel a bit of fun inside the track too. A perfect combination, I think.

“Vse Po Kolu” has a bit splashier percussion, I would say, but in general, it continues the mood of the A1 perfectly, the same vibe, just with a pinch more energy. “Obolon 3000” opens the B-side with a step into electro-house territory with its buzz on the beginning, but it was all a trick, you’ll find later in a track, think about modern progressive/tech here. “Karavaevy Dachi”, the last one on the record, cements the vibe here, putting another solid almost-tool.

The record will be released very soon, you can already do some pre-orders on Juno, Deejay, Decks, or wherever you’re buying your wax.
