It’s the tenth release on Antam Records, from the minds of Bassam and Antoine Sy, highlighting another interesting name from the Parisian scene. The name is Local DJ (yes, it is a name) and we’re ready to hear a 4-tracker with many nods to the electro house sounds of the 00s right now.
The opener, “2 Good To Be Friends”, starts without any rest, on the 0:30 mark we already have a top-notch bassline, that is preparing us for something interesting later. We were promised some vocoders, they’ll start on the third minute and turn the track into something mostly magical. Spacey and home-ish at the same time.
“Cowboy Bleebop” is even more energetic and more spacey, plus, instead of vocoders we’ll have that electro-house buzz here, also, as promised. “Da Neon Scene” won’t let us forget about those majestically transformed vocals, so here we have another a1-like track. And the final one, “Take It Please”, will be the calmest here. Still, it is built for the huge soundsystems – slow but strong.
There’s also a digital exclusive, like always on Antam Records – but we’ll let you check it by yourself on their Bandcamp.
The record is already in the pre-order sections and will be out very soon. Check Juno, Deejay, Decks, or any other good record store.
