German outfit GRVSTRT Records present their first vinyl release.
The Darmstadt based crew has been shaping a tasteful combination of German flavours with stripped-down formulas, inspired by Romania’s thriving minimalist scene.
Early releases have curated refreshing combinations in two various artist outputs over on the label’s Bandcamp. Moods remain on a fresh, airy tip, with a nod to the inspiration of nature within the music, working collaboratively with technology to create zesty, hopeful house music.
Jonas Lang & Krons both featured on the label’s first outing each with solo cuts. The former tapping into deeper, more euphoric territories in the sultry sounds of ‘Night Walk’. Krons offers a more nimble, garagey flavour, working a sleazy bassline and warm pads into the sounds of ‘Reboot’.
The German duo join forces for the label’s first vinyl release, dialing into their breezy aesthetic in the featured ‘Dream In Paradise’. Dusty, analogue sounding beats twitch over a skippy groove, executed with a gentle stroke casting warm embers around the track.
Stunning pads eventually enter the mix, washing over the rhythm with a delightfully wholesome presence. Dreamy melodies leak over the pads with a luscious entrance, slotting neatly between chords and complimenting subtle tremolo effects teased throughout the loop.
Intimate vocal samples introduce a brief breakdown at around the three-minute mark, complimenting the nourishing atmospheres that are very welcome during these isolated times.
Canadian producer Paul Quzz brings a vibrant housey jam with a cut from his live set ‘Once A Feeling’, working a thick bassline with buoyant acid blips gasping for a dance floor. Dragomir strips things back in his conclusive ‘Sensual Deception’ in the B2. The Romanian native flexes a sensual saxophone part over crisp beats and subtle vocal work.
