Premiere: A1 – Dixia Sirong w/ BADEO – Rohe [CARAC002]

Carac002

Switzerland based Carac Records present their second vinyl release.

The crew has released a number of minimalist house and techno cuts from local artists via both vinyl and digital formats. Reyaz and L1 from the Geneva-based collective featured on the first physical release, exploring pensive, acid-tinged moods soaked with soul.

French duo Dixia Sirong step up for the label’s second vinyl output, shaping three dynamic, dubby club cuts, accompanied by a remix from Detroit Side boss Giacomo Pellegrino.

Frequent works within warm, stripped-back house territories have landed the pair two EPs for Chez Damier’s Inner Balance label, as well as a number of EPs for the likes of Recordeep & Blind Vision.

The duo’s elegant approach combines a punchy, club-friendly zest with colourful soul, as heard throughout this premiere of ‘Rohe’. Sultry vocal blips ooze onto a lush, dub-techno-inspired chord sequence, painting a vast atmospheric sphere.

Beats are sharp and pacey, weaving precise percussion and heavily swung hats between kicks with a casual, cruisey demeanor. Shades of early tech-house from the likes of Terry Francis and the Wiggle crew seep through in the attitude of the track, sculpting the swift, versatile vibe that hits the spot on just about every dance floor.

‘Kahn’ & ‘Loos’ explore two funky floor-filling moods in the duo’s original cuts, working clever breaks and warm, hopeful textures with serene execution. Giacomo Pellegrino concludes the record with a deeper remix, bringing a driving after-hour jam of ‘Khan’ to this finely crafted EP.
