Portuguese powerhouses Nebulaee and Berllioz share a collaborative effort “Interplanetary” from debut release on Wicked Discourse.
Powder Traxx and FLMB head honcho Nebulaee has been making his mark through both his labels and his own productions as the house head combines flavours from breaks, tech house and minimal. His sounds have seen releases on labels such as Purism from Italian Deep house maestro Enrico Mantini, as well as Terrence Terry’s La Vie En Rose and more of the like. Nebulaee’s studio expertise saw performing live with Bulgarian techno legend KiNK. Sharing the stage on “Interplanetary” is fellow Lisbon-local and studio wizard Berllioz whose production prowess sees him performing live sets on the regular as well as landing him 2 EPs on well-loved Portuguese imprint Carpets & Snares and more.
The pair deliver a deep trip into the abyss, fuelled by droning tones and transmissions, brought back from the brink by locomotive percussion that cuts and slips as it swings. “Interplanetary” earns its name over the course of the track as the duo summon the elements over a natural and hypnotic ride.
Nebulaee captures those shadowy moments across his Eclipse EP, which kicks off with “Fastdeal” where timeless breaks shine through in all sorts of hues. “Herbig Haro” takes a step back as soothing pads roll over rocky drums that ebb and flow in tandem.
“Underwater” calls back to the dawn of time as primordial murmurings are heard from deep down below, a twisted tech-house tale that builds energy as it evolves. The release also features cover art from good friend of the label, Sammy Peeps.
“Nebulaee – Eclipse EP [WDD001]” sees 4 originals from Nebulaee and a dope remix of “Interplanetary” from fellow Portuguese-born, Berlin-based luminary Cleymoore, who reinterprets motifs from across the EP, as he weaves two different narratives into a robust, dancefloor-ready track that twinkles, bubbles and booms as the story unfolds.
