Dutch collective Off The Grid’s passion for music certainly won’t go unnoticed this year, as 2025 is the year they decided to take things a step further and launch their newest project Shelf – a label that aims to bring local talent to the spotlight and provide opportunities for growth and new connections.
Their first release – Off The Grid EP is a digital album consisting of four carefully crafted tracks by the residents of the collective under the same name: Former Child, Dj After, Dean, and Antona. “In music, we position ourselves at the intersection of house, techno, trance, and everything in between. We transcend genres because we believe in energy, not in classification”.
Our today’s premiere is Dean’s “The Zone”, the third track on the album. A bouncy, highly energetic, and fast-paced track that transfers its infectious energy to you within the first few seconds of playing. With its quirky synths and funky female vocals layered over an up-and-down melodic line, this track will take you to another dimension in no time.
Former Child’s track “Vile” is the absolute mid-party banger, with a slow, linear build-up that does not disappoint. After reaching its climax, it transcends into this trippy, atmospheric journey that you want to last forever. “Water”, DJ After’s track and the second on the album has some playful vocals and funky grooves going on there, and we undoubtedly love what we hear. Antona’s “Nano”, the closing track of the album is loaded with a contagious energy that’s hard to resist. No way to sit down on either of them for sure.
To end the day with even more great news, this time there’s no need to wait until you can get your digital copy, as the release date for Off The Grid EP is set for today (how convenient, right?), and the album can be ordered here.
