Newly born London label Colour Codes continues their journey with a second release, signed by DJ and producer BAST. His debut release lands with four original high energy tracks on the ‘Old School’ EP.
From BAST’s EP title track, the strong voice ‘going back to oldskool’ adds to the running beat and the catchy energy. This is also the tougher of the four tracks too which mean it sits pride of place in the release. EP starter ‘Sencillo’ take a similar path winding a satisfying path that leads straight to the more peak time dancefloor moments. Vocal clips and a the nice pairing of spacey atmospherics and a string sample really helps to build this track to fever pitch. More bombs are found on ‘Stutter’ and the completion of the EP falls to the more vocal cut with a cool swaying deep vibe.
London based producer BAST recently joined the label as a Colour Codes resident. You can now expect to see him playing at all of CC’s parties, including their forthcoming event on 17th March. As Yogi P headlines the party, he’ll be joined by residents Cramer and Oli Leal, but also by DJs Ouf, DJOM, Christian Cole, and of course, BAST. For the event, the label takes over the famous East London venue Starlane Pizza Bar, from 8PM and 3AM.
The EP is out Friday so don’t sit on it! You can find it on all of your favourite digging platforms.
