Trommel.173 – Herodot

The last time we spoke to Herodot, the Romanian was walking us through the labyrinthine Sunrise Hub that he painstakingly helped to create from the ground up. Incredibly, that was 2019 and a hell of a lot has happened in that time. Above all else there has been an unreal amount of gigs for one of Sunrise’s silent assassins. A clear favourite in his home country he regularly drops science at the likes of Sunwaves, Electric Castle, as well as venturing further afield to the likes of Air House in South Korea, Club De Visionaere in Berlin and Fabrika in Tunisia.

It is one of his latest festival forays that we find Herodot live and direct for our next podcast series. Widely regarded as one of the hottest sets of this years’ Gottwood, Herodot steps on the gas from the moment he lets loose on the DBT. Sunday takeover of Ricky’s Disco. Firmly in festival mode, Herodot quickly moves through break heavy garage bombs, old skool vocal territory, stopping off in minimal-land before launching right back into the bass fuelled grooves that has become his calling card. If this doesn’t make you want to check out Gottwood, a DBT. party, or one of this exciting artists’ performances, we don’t know what will.
