Argentinian artist Desirée Falessi is quickly rising to becoming one of the most en vogue artists of recent times. Her universal appeal extends to both the inner and outer reaches of our scene. Her uncompromisingly stripped-back style straddles the fine line between techno, electro, and breaks but with a boxfresh slant. Her 2024 has been a whirlwind of constant touring that has seen her take in many of the year’s biggest events in Sunny Side Festival in Malta, Danube Festival in Berlin, Why?Not’s closing party in Zanzibar as well as a weekly slew of club dates around the globe.
With Desirée recently launching her own Influencia Records imprint, she took control of the “Oscuro Feminino” EP where she presents an unflinching vision of the brand of high-octane acid-dipped techno that she is becoming so well respected for. “Nothing Special” rides out with snappy percussion and the type of bleepy synths that soundtrack the peak time hours in many of Desirée’s sets. Ominous synths bear their teeth throughout adding a serious bite to the bounding bassline that underpins the entire track.
