In advance of the meeting of 2 musical minds at TRMNL X One Records on Sunday, May 5th we look at some of the artists that will be making your bank holiday weekend go off with a bang.
There is no way that you can mention One Records or even clubbing Birmingham without speaking about Adam Shelton and Subb-an.
Their work as solo artists, duo and label heads have been integral to the north of England and the European electronic music scene as a whole. Adam has recently begun to delve deeper into his love for electro and breaks via his A-Future alias and this has already begun to bear fruits by way of his EON Records imprint.
Subb-an has also been on constant rotation around the world’s finest DJ booths and has recently taken in Hangar in London, Rex Club in Paris, Watergate in Berlin and El Avion in Ecuador.
Special things happen when these two old friends are in the booth together either as S_AS or under their well-earned names.
There isn’t a week that goes by that we are not waxing lyrical about the hugely talented Swiss artist Sonja Moonear and with very good reason.
Her work for labels such as Cocoon, Perlon, and her own Ruta5 label is just a fraction of her input into the house and techno sphere. Her appearance on any line-up is almost seen as a stamp of quality and her sets are more than worthy of such plaudits.
Her upcoming gig sheet is a who’s who of minimal and forward-thinking music with sets at Houghton Festival, Awakenings, Ricardo Villalobos’ FRRC OFF Week event, and countless others.
Sonja is definitely not to be missed this bank holiday.
This pair of likely lads have been instrumental in breathing some fresh new life into Ibiza over the past few seasons through their Ibiza Underground residency.
While Sonja and S.A.S. will be taking care of the daytime hours, the Real Gang Soundsystem duo of Miller and Nicolau will be playing a starring role of the night session on Sunday, May 5th. Lining up alongside Perlon mainstay Sammy Dee, this dynamic duo will be raising the party vibes the only way they know how – as soon as they step on the decks.
These are only 3 reasons why you should be making sure you are present for this day to night party but there are many more to be found.
