Russian party crew the Volks are not really ones for low key small parties, in their 6 years of operation, they quickly connected with the main players in the underground to put on some of the year’s most sought after events. From regular hook-ups with the likes of Epizode, Club der Visionaere, Hoppetosse, and the Volks Hotel in Amsterdam they also regularly lay their hat at Russian expansive industrial complex Mutabor. So, where should they celebrate the passing of their 6th year but this very special location.
Not doing things by halves is commonplace for the Volks so when designing their birthday, it had to be special. Curation of sound is something that the Volks excel at and so between Saturday, April 4th and Monday, April 6th they have programmed a full 30-hour trip that features an all-star cast of guests in Dan Andrei, Francesco Del Garda, Craig Richards B2B Margaret Dygas, Objekt, Abelle, Denis Kaznacheev and a full complement of residents including D.A.L.I., Gevorg Simonyan, Stab9, Velv.93 and of course Vlada.
The program of the weekend will be spread out amongst the far reaches of the post-industrial apocalyptic playground with the second nights’ activities taking place in the basement area and will feature the special pairing of Richards and Dygas as well as more performances to be revealed closer to the event. The event will also see the unveiling of a new Absolut bar designed by duo Freak Fabrique and will be located above the main dancefloor. The artistic stakes will be raised further still by an installation named ‘Six Wolves’ by artist Pavlik Kuznetsov. To give the event a truly 360 approach e/tape and Electic Blue will deliver an intense experimental sound performance that is so suited to the free form backdrop of Mutabor. Any visit to this unique art space is an experience for the senses but with the Volks at the controls, anything can and will happen during this weekend.
