Since we brought you the first emerging details of this year’s SXM Festival in Saint Maarten, the Caribbean between March 13th and 17th, the 5-day event has doubled down on the number of minimal superstars that will be making their way to the idyllic sun-soaked beaches of the Netherlands Antilles next month.
After the island was devastated in 2017 by a series of hurricanes the impossible decision was made to postpone 2018’s event in order to set up the Two Bunch Palms Foundation which sole goal is helps raise much-needed funds for those affected by Hurricane IRMA and also to help conserve the rich ecosystem that is the lifeblood of Saint Maarten.
Having played the last record of the closing party at Happy Bay in 2017, Ricardo Villalobos returns to SXM for 2019 and he will be joined by an equally serious array of phase-two minimal hot shots in Dana Ruh, Sonja Moonear, SIT, Spokenn, Sepp, Shaun Reeves and Gescu as well as positively heaving ensemble of artists.
Over the course of the festival it will be possible to party in jungles, beaches, open-air clubs, boats and villas and if it all gets too much you can kick back and unwind at the Mercure Hotel Spa.
Lasting for 5 days, SXM will be pooling some of the hottest club brands and promoters from around the world, with FUSE, VBX, XLR8R, Baum and Flying Circus to be just some of the crews bringing the noise this year.
After the resounding success of 2017’s The Other Side showcase with RPR Soundsystem, Shaun Reeves and Maher Daniel, they will be returning to bring a touch of class to proceedings as well as out of this world music.
