Having been a driving force in Morocco’s underground scene for a long time now, they continue to raise the bar via their well-respected club events and their on-point record label, Supervibe, are on a roll at present. The dust has only just begun to settle after their raucous event with German star Kolter, they now prepare for the next instalment, and this is not to be missed.
Taking place at Essaouira’s Beach & Friends on June 20th and 21st, Supervibe have connected with partners Fragment, where they form a double team to present a two-day adventure through the many shades of underground house and techno. Across the two day’s the beach front stages will present sets from a range of artists, both international and regional, and with previous Supervibe ranging from Voigtmann to JNJS, Tripmastaz to Traumer, the anticipation of who would be performing is already high.
The selected headliners for this weekend long party reads like a who’s who of current rising stars, and with there being two artists from our Free Download series in the mix, the calibre is certainly high. The diverse array of artists begins with Adult Sonics, a collaboration between Roksi and one of our recent Free Download artists BODJ, with their joint tracks hitting a very sweet spot between house and techno; their set is guaranteed to raise the heat of the already blistering Moroccan sun. They will be joined by fellow TFD artist Andy Kas, and with his powers growing stronger with every release, the Mind Helmet signee will have plenty of energy to inject into the party.
A name that is most definitely on the ascent is Light Blue File. An Argentinian artist that we have been consistently impressed with, so much so that we made sure that he was part of our party at the infamous Crobar when we rolled into town not so long ago. The next headliner is a UK artist that needs no introduction – Ray Mono. From his legend-soaked Monocult parties and record label, to his countless club and label appearances all over the world, Ray knows exactly how to make a floor move.
Regular member of the Supervibes setup is Moruki and as well being the Spanish connection, he has also been cropping up at some serious parties. As well as these Moroccan parties, Moruki has also recently been invited to celebrate the birthday of Okain and Ray Okpara at Ray’s It’s Ours party at Hoppetosse as well as Dias de Campo Festival. Joining him will be regular cohort Arval, and with releases already in the bag for Supervibes he has a sound that is well known to the SV faithful.
The Fragments crew will be expertly represented by Rikku and Yassir, and between them, they have supported some of the biggest names in business and are set to welcome many more to their party. They will be aided by Supervibe regulars and close friends Amin, Memed Awad, N4BZ, Ocean, and Yahya who will play live. These type of events would not be possible without the hard work of the dedicated residents, promoters, and supporting artists, who are all stars in their own right.
