What started out as a community based project to share only the finest underground music with the world has seen Edinburgh outfit RMN.BTS grow into much more. The now trio of DJ’s have starred at many of Edinburgh’s standout events as well as their own hotly tipped parties that have seen then the trio bring artists such as Silverlining, Reiss, and Per Hammar. However, RMN.BTS’ next event on Saturday, September 10th at The Biscuit Factory is an entirely different beast. For a start, the venue that will be the playground for this 12-hour marathon is perhaps one of Scotland’s standout venues. Combining the raw energy of a warehouse with the naturally lit sky light of a rooftop and all set to the finely tuned tones of a thumping soundsystem.
Making full use of said F1 system in the main room, ravers will find four headlining acts all worthy of heading up any party. First up is Partisan label head Anthea, her electro tinged productions and DJ sets have meant that she is so highly regarded from Berlin to Brooklyn and everywhere in between. Joining her in will be fellow Londoner Voigtmann and there is little doubt what Der V Man is capable of. Having recently blown the roof off The Pavillion at Houghton Festival Voigtmann’s blend of basslines, thudding drums and deft mixing will ensure that the dancefloor will have sore feet and arms come the last beat.
Next is the mysterious duo of Voodoos and Taboos, having only recently began to make their true selves known they have been projecting their sound from the shadows for some time. Having featured on Gene on Earth’s massive VA, Phonica’s sub label Phonica AM and of course their own imprint. Upfront feel good house and bass heavy rollers are just two of the many sounds at their command and with this being the duo’s Scottish debut vibes are ensured. Completing the visiting dignitaries is Liverpudlian DMC and being a regular for the top raves such as Art of Dark, Jooice, Summer of Love and Hide and Seek his power laden productions and bombastic DJ sets complete a guest list full of fire power. This would not be a RMN.BTS party without the lads themselves setting the tone for the day’s madness and the trio of Dablo, Charlie Craig and difrentmorals are very much in the process of making a sizeable impact on the UK scene.
Upstairs there will be even more sonic adventures as the intimate close quarters and D&B system will guarantee vibes from start to finish. Representing the Swiss / Glaswegian connection will be Gourlay of Keepitgoing. who has been an intrinsic part of the Westside minimal scene. Edinburgh crew Outset will be in full force with their members Gally, OYT & O-Tone playing B3B in line with their high octane high energy bag of tricks. Next comes the Edinburgh / Glasgow juggernaut of DBT and with a slew of summer off site and club based events already under their belt this year founders DJ BZ and Doogi will have the upfront garage flecked rollers well in hand. Completing one of the finest selections of Scottish talent is Dundee minimal heads Motus and Is Kill and Scott Paterson will be bringing the sounds from across the River Tay. Collecting together some of the finest clubbing brands from around Scotland and from around Europe, Perspective from RMN.BTS promises to be one of the events of the year and no doubt about it.
