Having been a force to be reckoned with on the Paris warehouse and party scene for some time, Pisica has hosted some amazing parties helmed by the likes of Crihan, Cosmjn, Vinyl Speed Adjust and their old friend Mihai Pol. So, the crew behind these often sold out parties have decided it is time to dip their seasoned toes into the murky waters of vinyl record labels.
Who best to join Pisica Records for their maiden voyage than Mihai Pol. Opting for a VA for their first release, this will, of course, see Mihai Pol inject his natural flair and energy into the 4 track EP, but there is also a range of excellent tracks from some lesser known but still exciting artists.
The release has most minimal bases covered nicely, from the punchy minimalism of Dani Labb’s “Time” on A1, to Octave’s lush acid work out on “Tomars”, Mihai’s brooding “Black Dot” and on B2 Fatzo’s high octane “Busy G” rounds out PSC001 in fine style. This is one hell of a release to kick off with and this signal great things to come for Pisica Records. You can pre-order your copy of PSC001 here.
To celebrate the label launch the team at Pisica will be doing what they do best and that is throwing an almighty warehouse party in Paris on Saturday, February 16th. As this is such a special occasion they will be teaming up with Romanian label UVAR to present a showcase of the label and a special back to back set has been arranged between Ada Kaleh, Nu Zau and Sepp. The early hours of this perfectly poised party will be taken care of by Zipon and the closing set will come courtesy of Saar & HLE.
As with all of the Pisica parties the unique and much-loved cat head will return as the centrepiece of the sound system, lighting and visual installation and you can check out what the Pisica parties are like by clicking here.
For this event, there will also be a donation made to Association Les Griffes du Coeur who is a local non-profit organisation whose goal is to help cats in needs. Purrfect.
