Picnic is back for their third party at London’s recently refurbished 93 Feet East, and are coming equipped with a monster line up.
The brains behind the party have built a reputation on the London circuit, working closely with their residents and curating a sound and a vibe that is unique. In the past, the team have had the likes of Reiss, Harry McCanna and Dan Lively feature on their lineups, as well as Julian Perez and the Mandar boys, both of whom will be making an appearance at next weeks event.
S.A.M, Malin Genie and Lazare Hoche have been a fundamental part of the scene in France and on a worldwide scale. Their ability to reach out to new listeners as well as satisfying more educated veterans on the dancefloors is something that is hard to achieve in the underground scene, but the boys have always kept things moving with a forward-thinking approach to both gigs and production. Their recent EP String Theory has gone down a storm, Trommel first heard the record in London’s Phonica Records and instantly fell in love with the title track as well as the B-Side ‘Poisoned Wounds’.
Julian’s label Fathers & Sons gave a lot of vinyl junkies a great deal to talk about, and his newer project Girada has also put out some really solid releases, including the recent D&S release, which can be heard HERE. No doubt there will be some familiar tracks in his set, as well as some forthcoming pieces from himself and the imprint.
As well Perez and Mandar, Elephant Moon label head John Dimas will be flying over from Berlin to spread some cosmic grooves through the system on Brick Lane. John played at 93 a few months back with locals Rossko and Laidlaw which was something very special to witness.
Residents Andy Luff, Ollie Drury and Jack Demeester will be warming things up, as well as Planetary Notions very on Joe Rolét.
The Picnic crew have also laid some foundations to launch a record label nearer the end of the year, showcasing productions from close friends of the label, and past acts that have played for the party. Plenty going on – eyes peeled!
