Pedro Booking are a unique force in the world of electronic music. Fusing a number of worlds across live and DJ acts, their artist roster hosts the likes of mesmeric live artists DMX Krew and Nu Genea, as well as a diverse range of selectors including Varhat, Paquita Gordon and Jamie 3:26.
The extended crew between the Bordeaux based Hill Billy and the artist booking agency are no stranger to throwing memorable showcases. Back in February, they celebrated their fourth birthday with a mammoth 20-hour rave.
Running from 3pm to 9:30am across two events, a daytime boat party invited the Discobar boss Lamache and fellow Frenchmen Lowris to set the tone, before handing over to My Own Jupiter boss Nicolas Lutz, Dyed Soundorom and O.BEE for a raucus warehouse party into the morning hours.
As we head towards the winter club season, the collective head to ADE to continue their vision of eccletic artists, excellent sound systems and long sets. Next Wednesday 19th October, the agency heads to the imfamous Amsterdam Dance Event, kicking off proceedings with an array of innovative selectors.
Heading up the bill is Detroit veteran DJ Stingray, bringing his fierce electro flavours alongside the talented vinyl selector Paquita Gordon. Her selections fit the Pedro Booking roster to a tee. Diverse and difficult to pin down, Paquita Gordon is a gifted DJ known for her journey-like sets spanning multiple decades, genres and influences.
A raw dedication to digging crates for the oddball, soulful and intruiging records has nurtured a global following for the Italian selector. Witnessing these two turntablists in the same room is sure to be a memorable affair.
Joining this forceful curation is Casa Voyager co-founder Driss Bennis aka OCB. The Morrocan artist and his label have been pivotal in carving the tastes of contemporary club music in recent years. His own productions have found a space within the bags of many selectors across various scenes, presenting a refreshing, soulful sound loaded with character.
Berghain frequent face Darwin also features on the bill, bringing her sultry and chuggy flavours in an intruiging back to back set with up and coming French artist GREG. Paris tastemakers Mad Rey and Mézigue will also play back to back.
The agency showcase marks the crew’s first event outside of France, taking over the IJLAND venue where you can be sure to expect top tier sound systems and spacious dance floors in the typical high class, dutch style.
Tucked away behind the northern banks of the IJ river, this hidden gem of a venue is only a 20-minute bike ride away from Amsterdam Central Station.
