The world of electronic music is an ever-surprising mystery. It was almost two years to the day that we broke the news that Valencian institution Oven Club was fighting for its life amid the wreckage that COVID-19 left in its wake. Fast forward to February ’23 and this longstanding member of the Spanish underground is shaping up for one its biggest weekends to date. During its ten-year role as one of Valencia’s most influential clubs, Oven is a strong believer in tempering the visiting guests with a strong local dynamic. This is a formula that it has and will always live by.
Starting in earnest on Thursday, February 2nd Hula Hop have drafted in The Ghost affiliate Kyle Tool who will be helping to kick off the birthday celebrations. The rising star will be joined at Oven Club by scene regular B.A.D.A.N.O. This will act as the perfect warmup to the weekend kicking off properly on Saturday. Here Oven Club will offer an extremely interesting proposition in the form of Oshana who will be performing live. The American is very well known for her angular yet spacey bombs catching her in such close quarters is an experience that few will be privy to. She will be supported by the trio of Pin, Ladrillovitz and Cheat Meal.
Saturday’s session will have distinctly different beginning to it as Oven Garden (Jardines del Turia) will be open for service and a sunkissed afternoon session at the Llit del Turia. The early afternoon funk will be provided by S.Moreira & Band and the Slow Life mainstay will be coupling live instruments with live electronics for your listening and dancing pleasure. ON hand to help with creating that all important vibe will be the team of Blanch, Vicente Candel, and Roy Johnson 1971.
Moving onto the business end of the weekend and Saturday night’s program is not to be missed. Taking control of Oven Clubs intimate spaces will be pairing of home girl Sugar Free b2b Fonte. With the former being one of our artists to watch in 2022 and the latter being on our most recent hitlist we are confirdent this will be a set you won’t want to miss. In house superstars Pau Pérez, Sueezo and Raw Planet will be setting the tone for the night as only they can.
