Together with studio partner Bihn, Onur Özer’s joint outing via their Treatment alias signaled a slight departure from the Turkish artists’ minimal sound of old and ushered in a new direction towards the retro-future electro side of techno.
With this sound only being recently explored on a solo basis via Onur’s 2016 Frequent Forrest Turn EP, released on Bihn’s Time Passages imprint, it seemed perfect timing to unleash a double EP following that vein.
With the double EP coming out shortly on a brand new imprint Denial Germany, “Akmar” is a breakneck affair with futuristic up-tempo electro bpm’s being a theme that runs throughout the release. Starting where Frequent Forrest Turn EP left off, “Akmar” captures the essence of electro but perfectly updates it for the modern dancefloor.
If you want to catch Önur in action, he will be headlining London promoter Cartulis’ milestone 9th birthday party on Saturday November 17th at FOLD , where he will undoubtedly showcase tracks from his new album.
