It is with a very heavy heart that Trommel acknowledges the sad closure of Mint Club in Leeds, UK. In an all too familiar story, the area surrounding the club is being redeveloped and this has meant that the club is not able to renew or extend their lease past the end of February next year.
In a very poignant and public Facebook post, Mint Club paid homage to over 20 years of welcoming some of the most prolific and influential underground artists to ever pick up a pair of headphones. With brands such as Back To Basics, Louche, System and Technique all calling the small but perfectly formed club home, it is no wonder that artist like Ricardo Villalobos, Enzo Siragusa and Seth Troxler kept coming back time after time.
While some clubs are not afforded the luxury of a swan song or two, Mint Club have unleashed a typically impressive line-up that will run until the end of February next year that is packed full of old favourites, surprise guests and returning residents that will see the Mint Club give the infamous strobes and booming sound system the send-off it truly deserves.
Some of parties that will make you check flight prices is System’s Romanian heavy party with Rhadoo and Praslesh on Saturday, October 6th, Fuse’s 10th Anniversary party with Enzo Siragusa, Archie Hamilton, Rossko, Seb Zito and Rich NxT on Saturday, December 1st and of course a 3-hour set from Shonky on Saturday, December 22nd.
