OFF Week that runs midway through June in Barcelona is a special time of the year for much of electronic music industry. The crème de la crème of house and techno descend on the seaside city and throw some of the biggest and most influential parties of the year. So, you can be sure that minimal music will be very presented.
Two such parties, that will be making a sizable dent in your serotonin thanks to Loud-Contact and Proyectual, will come from some of the biggest names in the genre and both will be taking place at Parc Del Forum.
Firstly, on Friday, June 14th the old guard of Romanian minimal will be taking over the open-air space for a showcase of their hypnotic groovy soundscape. For the first time in a while all three members Rhadoo, Raresh and Petre Inspirescu will be playing together as RPR Soundsystem, they will also be joined by Tulbure, Emi and the superstar visual master Dreamrec will be taking care of the ocular delights.
Then the very next day on Saturday, June 15th Ricardo Villalobos will be being presenting his Frequency Resonance Remote Control (FRRC) party alongside longtime cohort Craig Richards and his fabric legacy for an almighty party that will pick up in a similar vein to that of the Romanian crew the day before. Joining Ricardo Villalobos and Craig Richards, Jane Fitz, Mathew Jonson (Live), Nicolas Lutz, Sonja Moonear and Vera.
This crack team of top-level selectors are all inexplicably linked via the music that they play and the frequency that they perform at fabric. So, if you are a fan of the club then this will be like a home away from home. Two days of essential parties for those of a reductionist persuasion.
