Litoranea Festival invite a clutch of heavy hitters to Siciliy

Litoranea Festival returns to the serene sands of Siciliy for five days of music, local culture and breathtaking natural beauty.

Last year was a significant highlight in the Italian underground, inviting low-key, dedicated DJs to these remote locations to create something special. To quote the founders, Litoranea caters for ‘top selectors, the world’s best wine and food tasting, pristine beaches, crystal clear sea, sunset yoga, surfing and many other experiences.’

This year, the festival runs from August 2nd to 6th in the beautiful setting of Portopalo di Capo Passero, a strip of land at the southernmost tip of Sicily, surrounded by the Ionian and Mediterranean seas.

Artists span a variety of genres, including house and electro flavours, as well as more progressive trance and techno coming from a selection of local artists.

The most intriguing booking is a rare back-to-back set from Evan Baggs and Nicolas Lutz. Treading close quarters in their respective scenes, it’s no surprise that these two legendary selectors have many crossovers in their crafts. Expect the unexpected from the My Own Jupiter boss and veteran deejay’s DJ Evan Baggs.

Tastemaking producer and DJ Afriqua is also on the bill. The US selector has become a notable feature across the European scenes, bringing his infectious strain of house and minimal beats sure to bring a refreshing vibe to the weekend.

Italian legend and Slow Life affiliate DJ Tree features with his bottomless bag of gems, plus Dirty Love, the collaborative project between Dirty Channels and Eternal Love. It’s clear that the music policy is far from obvious, carefully curating a select few artists to achieve the vibe they have in mind.

The music policy meanders through a diverse range of house, electro and more progressive techno and trance flavours. The weekend will also feature a headline live performance by Popa, a young gem in the local music scene destined to perform on important stages in the near future.
