Portuguese Renaissance Man João Maria Girão is an artist who has literally been there and done it all, and it has all been for the greater good of his beloved Lisbon. Whether that is shining a light on the wealth of artistic gold that he has unearthed via his label Assemble Music, his festival Lisboa Electronic, to the regular ASSEMBLING events that João puts on for free, there is a clear MO here, and it is all about the music.
With Assemble Music having already celebrated its tenth birthday back in 2021, João is now shaping up to deliver a sizzling program of events to celebrate ten years of ASSEMBLING. Taking place at Village Underground Lisboa, the first Thursday of the month will be a reminder of just how unwavering Assemble Music and João are in their love for vinyl culture and electronic music. Beginning on May 8th and running until October 2nd, reprising his Solid Funk alias, João will be welcoming a range of international guests that include Reedale Rise (live), Hakim Murphy (live), Lerosa (live), Eduardo De La Calle, Salbany (live), and 2JACK4U (live).
As well as enriching the Lisbon scene with performances from some of the world’s finest artists, João will also be providing a stage for the many local legends that have joined him on his quest. Having grown to become cornerstones of the Lisbon scene, his compatriots Ze Salvador, Cruz, Tiago, Mary B, Worm Class & Schlingen, Andre Cascais, Patrick Specke, Diogo Lacerda, Acid Cell, Amulador, Zoy, Miguel Neto, Tolga Fidan, and Roger Mateus.
As always, entry is free and is open to all.
