Formed in 2015, festival Junction 2 has risen to become one of the highlights of the clubbing calendar and rightly so. Taking place at Boston Manor Park in London, Junction 2 offers an incredible amount of attention to detail and blockbusting stage production that has blown away all comers. Junction 2 is the brainchild of London Warehouse Events (LWE) and with the festival now taking place over 2 days there is even more scope to explore the many sub-genres that make up the underground house and technosphere.
With some seriously heavy hitting guests such as Bicep, Daniel Avery, Daphni and Motor City Drum Ensemble already announced for day 1 on Friday, June 7th it is clear that Friday will be a much more open format session. Junction 2 has now announced the second phase of artists that are sure to get pulses racing. Bringing that extra spice and flair will be Ben UFO, Jeremy Underground, Mr G, who will be playing a rare DJ set, Rroxymore and Umfang complete this particular announcement.
Saturday, June 8th will, as always, focus on techno and its many variants and with the festival being closely linked to Drumcode it is a certainty that Adam Beyer will return. He will be joined by first phase artists a trio of techno titans Joseph Capriati, Maceo Plex and Richie Hawtin. Joining these top names will be none other than Apollonia, Nicolas Lutz, San Proper, Sonja Moonear, tINI and Voigtmann, so the minimal house and techno sound will be very well represented in the 2019 edition of Junction 2. There has also been more exciting news announced which has been getting tongues wagging and that is that fabric legend Craig Richards has been named as this year’s weekend guest, so Craig will be performing on both Friday and Saturday.
Keep your eyes peeled on their website and social media channels as more info will be announced in the coming months, but it is shaping to be one hell of a weekend. For a taste of what to expect check out the above after movie from last year’s event.
