Craig Richards’ gathering at Houghton Hall has only had a few editions but it has already reached near-mythical status. From the offset, obvious big festival stage lineups were decidedly out and on point and on form bookings are firmly on the menu. This is what Houghton Festival is all about, but when you consider who is curating the four-day event was there ever going to be any other way this was going to go?
There has been a lot of news this week regarding events springing up everywhere and this could perhaps be one of the best yet. The dates you have to ear mark in your diary is first of all that tickets go on sale on Thursday, March 11th. That is the main point. Secondly the actual festival dates are Thursday, 12th August to Sunday, August 15th.
We hate to admit it, but this is a bit of a no-brainer given the artists that have been previously billed here. We probably don’t have to rattle off a load of names at this point but the likes of Nicolas Lutz, Margaret Dygas, DJ Masda, Maayan Nidam, and of course Craig Richards and Ricardo Villalobos were all slated for the ill-fated 2020 edition. As well as the unreal music, stage production, and co-operative event ethos there is still so much to find out about Houghton Festival 2021. Now, we all just need to keep our fingers crossed that this is still the case come August.
