With France’s minimal scene currently in bloom there are few independent promoters that have risen to the level of Automatic Writing. Having been bringing next level artists such as Nicolas Lutz, Akufen and Lamache to some of France’s finest venues. This is only part of the Automatic Writing story.
Preceding their fine party series is, of course, the groove-laden Automatic Writing imprint and it is 3 years of this fine vinyl only output that the French collective will be celebrating on Friday, June 21st. From the reductionist funk of label resident Murphie Cooper’s ‘Rue Aux Ours’ EP back in 2016 to open up the label’s account to this year’s white-hot ‘Beauty Is Random’ EP from rising star Sweely – Automatic Writing Music are on a roll. As you can expect from an outfit that puts out such wicked music they throw one heck of a party.
A special party such as this deserves a special line-up and with legend of the French minimal scene and Apollonia main man Dyed Soundorom topping in the bill in the club room the groove will be more than taken care of. Resident Gab Jr. will be performing a live act that is getting strong recognition within the underground scene and Reiss, Amsterdam’s favorite from Dutch heavyweights VBX, will also join the line-up.
Elsewhere on the newly refurbished and beefed up terrace, there will be a showcase from RA+RE Records which will include sets from the sublime ABI, Rohmi and Charlotte. This exciting collective will be joined by Automatic Writing residents and hyperactive producers Charonne and ATWT co-founder Nico Dee. Just make sure you don’t sleep on this event if you are in Paris next month make sure you find yourself at Trabendo on Friday, June 21st, you won’t regret it.
