The Château Perché family have long mastered the art of transforming historic spaces into immersive playgrounds. From one château to the next, their gatherings have become synonymous with escapism, where theatrical production, surreal landscapes and a deep-rooted love for underground sounds converge. This summer, they return with their most ambitious edition yet: two sprawling sessions across June and July, spanning a total of ten days and welcoming over 300 artists to the enchanting grounds of Château de Vaux en Champagne.

At its core, Château Perché is more than a festival. It’s a temporary world built on freedom of expression. Under the banner of Vacances Romantiques, the event invites attendees to shed the weight of the everyday and step into a shared fantasy. Inclusivity and identity sit at the heart of the experience, with a strong emphasis on celebrating individuality in all its forms.

Just a few weeks ago, we shared the 300+ artist lineup (you can read the full details of the festival’s musical offering here). The programming reflects Château Perché’s open-minded philosophy: fluid, exploratory and designed for discovery. Beyond the dancefloor, however, the festival continues to build on its fully rounded experience. Each session hosts more than 150 workshops, spanning everything from wellness and self-care to creative expression and games, alongside more exploratory and intimate offerings. It’s an environment designed not just for dancing, but for connection, reflection and play.

Despite the events themselves being the largest the festival has hosted to date, the overall format has been refined. A reduced capacity promises a more intimate atmosphere, allowing space to explore new boundaries in a more relaxed and considered setting.

A staple of previous editions, La Lutinerie Bienveillante returns with its sex-positive camp, open to both first timers and more experienced participants. Smaller, more focused workshops will sit alongside an expanded programme of talks centred around gender identity, desire and fantasy, spanning formats such as meet-up games, writing sessions and theatre. As always, the emphasis remains on creating a safe and inclusive space for all genders and identities.

The programme stretches even further beyond. From political discussions to artistic practices, the breadth of extra-curricular activities offers countless ways to engage. Even extending to the dancefloor. One stage will be dedicated during the daytime to guided sessions, including ecstatic dance, embodied practices and more liberated formats. Collective Swell Dance will lead large-scale workshops, bringing together professional dancers and participants alike, all supported by a high-quality L-Acoustics sound system.

Elsewhere, attendees can expect everything from jam sessions and breathwork to naked yoga, speed dating, improv theatre, lithography and writing or drawing classes, each contributing to the festival’s uniquely participatory spirit.

Château Perché continues to carve out a distinct space within the European festival circuit—one where music, art, identity and environment come together seamlessly. Set against the timeless backdrop of rural France, it offers a rare invitation to step outside reality and fully inhabit something more colourful, more expressive and entirely your own.
