Caprices Festival unveil first details for 2019 edition

After their stunning 15th edition scooped the gong for Best International Festival at last year’s DJ Awards, Caprices Festival returns to Switzerland’s Crans-Montana between April 11-14th 2019 and as you might expect they are bringing with them the biggest names in techno, minimal and house.

With much of the action taking place high up in the Swiss Alp’s, Caprices Festival is a gathering unlike any other and we are not just talking about the soundtrack. Offering festival goers, a full 360 experiences that includes high-end restaurants, a fine selection of shops and boutiques, a wellness centre and it goes without saying that the ski facilities are out of this world. So, Caprices Festival is very much a destination event where you can really immerse yourself in all that the resort has to offer as well as lose yourself in the world-class musical performances.

Boasting one of the most iconic stages on the world festival circuit, the MDRNTY stage, situated at the apex of the snow-capped Crans-Montana resort is to be experienced to be believed. Offering a stunning calibre of audio-visual production, this vast greenhouse that sits atop of the Cry D’er mountain some 2,200m above sea level and offers true panoramic views of the surrounding mountain range. So, without further ado, Trommel is very excited to announce the first wave of artists for this unbelievable event.

Straight out of the blocks on Friday, April 11th, the MDRNTY stage will see a decidedly minimal program of sets from none other than Giegling artist Edward, Margaret Dygas, Ricardo Villalobos and Raresh. That same day at the tented, 3,000 capacity MOON stage, will mean an actioned packed schedule including performances from Peggy Gou, Seth Troxler, Giorgio Maulini, Jamie Jones and Black Coffee. What a start to the festival that will be.

Saturday, April 12th at the MDRNTY stage will have an altogether more different feel than that of the previous day with sets from Audiofly, Bedouin, Behrouz and Blond:ish. Meanwhile, down at the MOON stage techno will certainly be the order of the day and the piste will be pounded by the sounds of DVS1, James McHale, Len Faki, Marcel Dettmann and Pan-Pot.

As is tradition, Papa Sven and his Cocoon brand will again be hosting the final day on Sunday, April 13th and with sets from French trio Apollonia, Fabe and the man himself – Sven Väth what a day that will be. Remember to bear in mind that this is incredibly just the first phase of artists, but this is already shaping up to a monster event and see Caprices on its way to retaining the coveted title of Best International Festival for a second year running. Of course, you can rely on Trommel to keep you posted on all the event happenings in the coming months, so keep your eyes peeled.
