Situated just west of the Amalfi coast, the scenic sights of Capri really lend themselves well to holidaymakers as they enjoy sites of natural beauty from impressive coastlines to ethereal grottos as well as historic and cultural sites such as the Gardens of Augustus and the idyllic seaside architecture. An ideal, elevated spot to enjoy some real quality music and soak in the unique views on offer. Rumore has certainly stepped up to the mark and curated lineups well worthy of such a sweet setting as they welcome a stellar selection of artists across the warmer months to the rooftop of the island’s il Capri Hotel.
Location aside, the club features a stylish interior and state-of-the-art sound system, which has seen the likes of San Proper, Melody (RA+RE) and O.Bee all laying it down in seasons past. This summer is looking to be their biggest yet as Rumore are set to welcome some serious names to the island as Dr. Banana, Liquid Earth, Maxime dB & Aline Brooklyn, and Massimiliano Pagliara are all set to make an appearance. It looks like a summer stacked with memorable nights, to say the very least.
With a host of local heads taking the helm from the off, Rumore regulars Disco Panico start off the season with the duo, consisting of Gio Nardi and Diego Amura, playing alongside Alessio Cristiano for the inaugural session on the April 19th. The following weekend will be just as unmissable with Mara and Tony Iannicelli providing the soundtrack on April 26th. The remainder of April and May will hear performances from Brazilian outfit Gop Tun DJs, island favourites, Acid Washed and Paulo D’esposito, as well as all-night-long sets from Outtakesound, Deep Futuristic, Make A Dance and more.
June turns up the heat as early weekends see sets from Yung Prado and Pabels, 2M, Sinopoli and Mugman. Rounding things out with ReSolute affiliates Orazio Rispo and O.Bee, the latter of which has been making international waves with his Can You Jigit? radio show as well as hotly-tipped festival sets and more alongside partner in crime Tomas Station.
July’s forecast is looking just as hot, seeing the return of Parisienne and Rex club regular Yuko Kakizawa, billed with Berlin-based Ukranian hotshot Miura, with Mara and Alex Kassian up next, the former will be fresh off the back of performing Gop Tun Festival in festival. The rest of the month features a select crop of rising stars with Hiver, Alegria, Vithz, Maure, Pascal Moscheni, Chloe Caillet, Hank Korsan and Jesuon holding the fort. With crème de crème serial selectors seeing the month out, French talent of RA+RE fame, Melody, alongside label boss and crate-digger extraordinaire Dr. Banana playing b2b on Friday 25th. It’s gonna make for one hell of a weekend as Saturday night sees Squid records boss Liquid Earth land on the island to bring his usual retrospective blend of house and electro, no doubt road-testing some up-and-coming unreleased goodies.
1morepizzapls will see in the first weekend of August before Airfunk’s Aline Brooklyn and Maxime dB take the reins on Saturday night, promising a night of star-kissed cosmic funk, smooth house tones and more from seemingly endlessly deep record bags. With the duration of the month seeing the likes of The Lost Boys, Cumhur Jay, Jonny Rock, Tony Iannicelli and Retromigration manning sounds for the weekends on the beautiful Capri. August also sees the return of MakeSense records’ boss and machinedrum-maestro Vadim Svoboda, whose sound can be interpreted as soft, introspective insights into a world of rhythm and intrigue that is every bit as raw as it is delicate, from masterful jams on the Elektron Machinedrum to a plethora of vinyl and digital releases over the years, his sound never fails to amaze. La Cuenta Porfavor conclude the month showcasing their very own Agathe Mougin and Jean Nathan who will play back-to-back with some explosive, electro-tinged and dancefloor-directed tunes for some serious moves.
September starts with a showcase from Naples-based Soul Express, who have picked ThanksMate, Giuseppe Fava and Obbi to share their sound, with the crew having welcomed the likes of Luca Lozano and Maurice Fulton to parties of their own, you know they are certainly not playing around. With Eternal love, Carlove and Tony Ianicelli taking care of the mid-month weekends, the last stop is being pulled by Pascal Moscheni and Simone de Kunovich, who will bring a blend of eclectic, unconventional digs and straight-up beguiling classic house tracks.
What a summer that is set to be over on Capri Island, especially on the rooftop of il Capri Hotel, suddenly feeling like we may all need a holiday there. If you are looking to get a lovely bit of holiday time but without missing out on the party action, then il Capri Hotel would be a most sensible shout. As a 5-star location with staff on hand to help you plan your trip, Rumore on hand to soundtrack the evenings, not to mention the hotel also boasts an outdoor swimming pool and is located right in the centre of town.
