The French trio of artists consisting of Shonky, Dyed Soundorom and Dan Ghenacia aka Apollonia have for a long time been delivering masterclasses on groovy funk-laden house bombs at the most discerning clubs throughout the land. Strangely this will be the group’s first residency on the White Isle, so when the trio is openly excited about their new residency kicking off you know it is going to be special.
For regular visitors to the island, the club where Planet Claire will take place each Sunday will not be completely unknown as Octan Ibiza will take over the space formerly known as Sankey’s Ibiza. Starting on Sunday, July 28th the Parisian’s will inaugurate the party by playing an all night long which the tag team is extremely well known for. Setting up shop in the basement is fellow resident Steve Lawler and his Warriors party. As Steve was instrumental in the formative years of the club there is nobody better to have onboard for the opening party.
With Octan Ibiza’s Ryan O Gorman looking to shine a light on more experimental and underground sounds over the course of the summer a schedule brimming with hot names has been confirmed. Names such as Edward, Omar, Traumer, Gene On Earth, Cristi Cons, Robin Ordell, Francesco Del Garda, Anthea, and Nicolas Lutz will all appear before another all night long set from Apollonia on September 29th will close out the first season of Planet Claire. This is great news for fans of both minimal music and Ibiza as the 2 have not found much common ground in recent years.
