Wide-open terrain, trees and nature all around and right next to the Mediterranean Sea, Family Piknik is the perfect summer spot. A 10-minute train ride from Montpelier, seaside town Frontignan is a veritable oasis, with 7km of beaches, delicious local wine and delicacies it serves as a great home for Family Piknik Festival.
Following the success of last year’s debut edition, Family Piknik have decided to add a new stage supplying underground sounds as well as extending their campsite. This decision was taken in line with their ethos on making Family Camp an area in which people feel at home and the vibe is nice and friendly, avoiding cramped camping spots will help attendees have a space that is theirs and prevent any turf wars from occurring. This commitment to creating an inclusive and welcoming space even features a dedicated children’s area on site to keep the wee ones entertained. And if camping isn’t for you there are countless hotels a stones-throw from the festival.
With some big names such as Carl Cox, Adam Beyer and Josh Wink taking to the main stage to bring all things big across house and techno. Meanwhile the Family Nomad stage will be entertaining a myriad of underground flavours, welcoming some of Berlin’s finest, some local heads and artists from further afield.
Catering to the ears and desires of the underground contingent the Family Nomad stage aims to push the sense of intimacy between dancer and DJ, featuring a circular stage design, the crowd will be able dance and flow more freely as every spot is as sweet as the next in terms of sound. This will provide the perfect vibe for close-knit enjoyment of some top-tier minimal, with Fumiya Tanaka, Margaret Dygas and a b2b special from Anthea & tINI, it’s not just the weather that’s gonna be coming in hot.
