There is no denying the popularity of Ableton and as a result of The Source there has been no shortage of tutorials using the DAW. The great news for beginners and experienced studio heads is that the next edition of the software is due for full release on Tuesday, February 23rd. The envelope-pushing program has been in beta mode for some time and unlike most DAW new releases this is certainly not a box-ticking exercise.
With each iteration of Ableton there are serious advancements in sound design and usability and the 11th edition is just as effective at allowing producers to get creative. First of all, there are all-new effects, devices and sounds included which include a duo of nifty spectral plugins and 6 new instruments that take their cues from nature.
As well as the new sonic upgrades, there is also a raft of forward-thinking production and performance options. For those of you that like to play instruments or MIDI controllers live and record the results it will be even easier to compile and edit your work. There will also be a very cool integration of MIDI Polyphonic Expression capable devices such as Seaboards.
We won’t spoil the fun for you and to give you an added incentive to join the Ableton family those friendly German geniuses have knocked a massive 20% off the retail price and will be offering a free upgrade to Ableton 11 when it comes out. What a deal that is.
