We R The Aliens aims to build a platform for the futuristics as well as for the old school. a pleasant combination of genres to say the least. This message comes direct from a group of friends all sharing a love of electronic music, combining a wealth of knowledge and expertise into one label. Jakob Seidensticker (one-third of Wareika), MELINA, Boronas, and Snad are all artists within their own right, all featuring together on their debut VA. Chklte and Markus Sommer have been invited along for the occasion.
When pals collaborate in this way there comes with it an added warmness. A feeling that the music is born out of good times, not so serious and instead fused with fun. The alien invasion is continuing here and we’ve secured Chklte’s ‘The Sway Effect’ for the premiere.
Groove is constant from start to finish. The bassline purrs a playful, rolling beat underneath delicate synth lines, fronted by a Roland SH-101 that fuels an infectious funk. A combination of energies offers dance floor material with soothing sounds over a beat that falters only briefly at the breakdown. It makes for a moment of calm, littered with a distorted vocal and warming chords.
Markus Sommer delivers something quite different over on the B side with ‘Lost Love’. Mysterious and trippy meets bopping bassline, a perfect soundtrack for when things are getting weird at the afters. Meanwhile, the minds behind the label have provided two deep, intergalactic house cuts in ‘The Remedy’ and ‘Das’.
