Label head MAXIMILIAN returns to his Evideon Studio Records imprint with the sixth edition in the MIKROKOSMOS EP series. Another two tracker, this time focusing more on the hypnotic side of his output.
Our pick of the release is “Wohlfahrt”, and the nod to 90s deep house is what really propels this track. The repeating organ stabs and vintage drum percussion offer a time capsule look into the deeper end of this genre from that time. Joining the dots is a more detuned addition to these organ stabs that builds the tension for the latter piano chords to have the desired effect.
Completing the package over on side A is “Enckhausen”, which treads a more vocal Dream House route. Ethereal pads and floaty vocals that conjure up thoughts of classic moments from Detroit and Chicago’s classic era.
