Amsterdam-based duo Club Warme Deken, the collaborative project of Joppe Harinck and Marco van der Meulen, return with a new EP featuring a remix from Melchior Productions Ltd. Their latest outing sees the duo present a three-tracker that explores different shades of minimal house.
We turn our attention to our premiere track, “Bacia”, Melchior Productions’ remix on B1. While staying faithful to the essence of the original, Melchior injects the track with a noticeably swingier groove, giving it a fresh rhythmic identity. The result is a more fluid and playful interpretation that retains the emotional core of the source material while naturally leaning towards the dancefloor.
Opening the release, “Ciapa” immediately settles into a hypnotic state. Rounded textures, resonator-infused sounds and a subtle vocal hook shape a meditative atmosphere, while the stripped-back arrangement keeps the focus on its constantly evolving minimal groove. Trippy without being overwhelming, it’s a patient opener that gradually reveals its details.
The original version of “Bacia” comes with a warmer approach. A memorable vocal hook intertwines with evolving chord progressions and delicate key accents, creating a nostalgic mood that slowly unfolds without ever losing sight of the groove.
WD.004 is expected to be officially released on September 21st and until then it’s available for pre-orders on Phonica Records.
