Premiere: A2 – Jake Childs – Paradise [VSTR002]

After their debut on wax this March, Australian collective Visitors quickly made an impression with a release that nearly sold out. Now, the label returns with a four-track EP featuring Jake Childs, who navigates effortlessly between electro, disco, EBM, and tech house on Then & Now.

Our premiere track, “Paradise” on A2, immediately stands out through its infectious combination of booming basslines and crisp 808 drums. Electro influences run throughout the piece, while puzzling male vocals give the track an undeniable charm.

Opening the release on A1, “The Art Of Lust” ventures into darker territory. Shifting between new wave, dark disco and EBM influences, the track balances gloomy atmospheres with a steady pulse, ensuring its steady impact on the dancefloor.

Flipping over to the B-side, “Pretty Things” takes a more direct route. Built around a tighter tech-house framework, it keeps things stripped back and functional while maintaining enough groove to keep the energy flowing.

Closing the EP, “City Of Angels” explores the intersection of electro and disco through trippy melodic sequences and immersive synth work. The result is a dreamy yet dancefloor-focused finale that leaves a lasting impression while showcasing another side of the label’s diverse palette.

Then & Now EP is available for orders on Juno.
