Katakana, the name that sounds like a blast from the past, after a recent reissue on Love Exposure Records, is having his first new release in 20 years on a new label, called Esoteric Ears. Of course, we’re grabbing a piece of it.
“Incline” (like the whole release, to be honest) sounds kinda like a track from THAT era, which it really is; the whole EP has the tracks that were kinda forgotten. But at the same time, they sound like they were produced this year also. That’s the scene right now. The biggest groove of this EP is hiding at the A1 position. And probably, this one will be played the most. But that’s not the only one here…
“XII” is another progressive peaktime banger, with the sounds that should be played only at big (huge!) venues. At the same time, “Fear Of The Unknown”, being almost the same track stylistically, is designed for much calmer parties and events. Everyone should find something for themselves here.
The release is already at Juno, Deejay, or Redeye. And, as I was told, probably, there’s more to come. Stay tuned!
