The fifth instalment of Squid Recordings, as they say – “a label focused on Rave Americana and beyond”– presents us with Dutch DJ Iceberg (or Benjamin Berg). His solo 5-tracker, but the main track is made with Gusty (Mat Gusty).
“Desire” starts stripped-down, but you better just wait one minute – I swear, one of the hardest basslines this year. Dungeon Meat-level of seriousness, house to the fullest possible point.
“That A Side” totally continues the vibe, just without that hardness here, a simple and solid piece. “The Luna Project” looks into some tribal motives, perfect for the +30 heat in August, I guess. “Round Bounce” kinda does both – a solid house track and that concrete jungle vibe. Finally, the outro at “Just Do You” almost screams at us with the “Do Your Thing” level of heat (you better not tell me that you didn’t see the movie).
The record will be out very soon, and, since we’re expecting a quick soldout, you’d better run to Deejay, Decks, or One Eye Witness ASAP.
