Pressure Point presents the third output of his D:fferent Place alias. The self-titled imprint has garnered a stream of support since its inception in 2017, with frequent plays at Sunwaves from [a:rpia:r], as well as early releases heating up in Discogs prices.
Prioritising essential areas of the Italian’s craft has come to fruition in recent years. Hand stamped artwork gives little away, leaving the music to speak for itself and allowing word of mouth to spread organically through the minimal circuits.
Drawing away from a more wigged-out, psychedelic sound of his productions under Pressure Point that may associate with the likes of Nicolas Lutz and Binh, D:ifferent Place falls into a more accessible, deep house territory.
Bright, feel-good vocals sit proudly in the mix amongst peak time drum sequences in the premiered ‘How Is It’. Patterns are reduced and satisfying. Benefiting from clean, ripe sounding timbres, sections feel full with very little, allowing crisp hats and a clever bassline to hold significant portions of the track.
New elements occasionally slide seamlessly into the mix, slotting around a luscious chord sequence and slick sample work with the vocal. D:fferent Place reveals a new side to Pressure Point, expressing a lighter, atmospheric side to the versatile producer.
