Launched just about a year ago, Denver-based label Hypnodose Records continues its strong run and reached their third much-anticipated release, featuring Romanian key-figure Costin Rp, who crafted a sharp selection of four dancefloor-ready bangers.
We start off with our premiered track “Agamemnon” on side A1, an acid-laced opener driven by a retro-leaning melodic core. Hypnotic conga patterns lock into the piece, while gated vocals add a distinctive allure.
An intricate track, “Hiding In The Shadow” on A2 blends melodic SFX with granular, glitchy vocal samples. Subtle jazzy elements come and go, giving it a fluid, experimental character.
Flipping over to the B-side and “Hiding In The Shadow” wastes no time. A punchy, groovey track built around a rolling acid bassline. Cowbell percussions and sporadic synths keep the energy high and the rhythm tight.
The B-side is surely “Full Of Surprises”. Last but not least, the closing track on the EP takes us on a trippier journey, where sound design takes the spotlight. A SFX-focused piece layered with echoed melodies and vocal chops, adding a playful, unpredictable twist.
