Dutch artists and friends Den Haas and Fyrone have been making the most of their online label Resynance. The platform has paved the way for a bunch of releases, featuring solo projects and collaborations between the pair. In their decade of friendship, it appears they understand each other’s sounds. Often, if one makes a track, the other makes a remix.
Between them, they are certainly not shy of ideas, already boasting an impressive back catalogue on Bandcamp since the label began in 2019. And the tunes keep on coming. The latest fruit comes from Den Haas and it’s Fyrone this time on the remix.
The reinterpretation of ‘Rain’ is pleasantly deep. A soft break beat sets the rolling rhythm before a simple bassline takes over. Less is more, as the melodies take centre stage. Keys dance in delicate motion over a foundation of warm chords and delayed synth notes move in melancholy.
As the layers together take their form, a hopeful guitar riff steps in. Atmosphere is building and the vocal breathes in dreamy. It’s a nice, rounded track that serves up a certain optimism, with feel good moments that blend musicality and groove.
