Few names sit closer to the heart of the Romanian sound than Cristi Cons. A quiet architect of the Bucharest school, he has spent the better part of two decades shaping a style that values patience over showmanship. An integral part of the underground music community, his productions are as granular as his DJ sets, offering painstaking emotion and thoughtful curation throughout. It is little surprise that his solo work and collaborations with SIT, Amorf, and his label Amphia continue to be the benchmark in Romanian minimal house and techno.
Most weekends, you can also catch Cristi Cons in action at the world’s finest parties, but for his solo debut on our mix series, you find him in full flow at one of the biggest underground stages – Sunwaves. Having moved to Bulgaria for the first edition of the year, Cristi took charge of Tent 4 and immediately stamped his style all over the crowd, who were already in top gear. Not sticking to one genre for too long, Cristi keeps the thronging dancers engaged with a mix of breakbeats, electro, and peak-time lush techno.
