Cesare Muraca doesn’t sit still in one sound for long, and that’s exactly what makes him worth paying attention to. The Italian producer, now based in Berlin, first surfaced with his debut EP on 192 rec — a moody, electro-tinged record that hovered somewhere between techno and house without ever picking a side. Since then he’s kept drifting: spaced-out, trance-inflected electro for Clone, breakbeat and deep house cuts for MME Recordings, an EP for The Comfort, and most recently a moody addition to the celebrated Undersound Recordings VA series.
Italian artist Cesare Muraca now steps up for our Free Download series, and his track “Your Best” adds another highlight to his growing discography. Robust beats are the order of the day, and when coupled with the deep, bounding bassline forms a groove that is hard to put down. Repeating acid lines and emotive synths paint a peak-time picture that is designed to make an impact. Whether this is part of his solo DJ sets or as part of Displaced alongside Francesco Carvetta, Cesare Muraca is an artist who should be sought out at all costs.
